31337 InfoSec Is on Pause - Here's What's Coming Next
If you've been following 31337 InfoSec — Cyber Threat Weekly, thank you. Over two years of weekly threat intelligence, covering adversarial behavior, threat trends, and the techniques threat actors are using week over week.
It's been a labor of interest, allowing me to keep up with the threat landscape and share strategic threat intelligence with the security community at the same time.
I'm pausing it.
Not shutting it down. Pausing it, and I want to explain why. Because you deserve more than a newsletter that just goes dark.
What Happened
A power outage during recent storms took out my Open CTI server — the infrastructure I use to aggregate roughly 60 threat intelligence feeds. That server powers the research behind every issue.
Rebuilding it correctly takes time. And right now, my time is committed to something I think matters more.
The Mission
For the last several months I've been building a community designed specifically for small business owners who are facing the same cyber threats as large enterprises, with none of the resources to handle them.
The mission is simple, help those who need it most. First, small business owners who lack the time and resources to defend against an aggressive adversary. Second, 25% of net revenue goes to charity. My wife and I started a charitable foundation supporting Veterans / First Responders, Kids, Animals, the Homeless, Cancer, and Brain Injury.
The Plan
- Rebuild the threat intel server properly
- Migrate 31337 InfoSec to the new platform
- Relaunch the newsletter in the new platform
That's a few months away. When it happens, 31337 InfoSec becomes the intelligence backbone of something bigger.
Coming Soon
In the coming weeks, a new community for small business owners will be launched. Updates will be posted in this thread as the launch gets closer.
To everyone that supported 31337 InfoSec – Cyber Threat Weekly, thank you.
